Founder

Rev. Paul Houiellebecq.

Paul has been married 37 years to Evelyne and has 2 sons who both live and work in Switzerland. As a graduate, he worked as a production chemist before completing theological training at the Elim Bible College. After learning to speak German, he pioneered a church in Switzerland in 1986, spending 5 years in church development and is an ordained minister for over 30 years. He then developed work programmes in Jersey for 3 years for adults with learning difficulties.

He came to Cardiff, Wales, in 1994 and established a church and community work over 12 years on the St. Mellons housing estate, known as an area of social deprivation and unrest, that expressed practically and compassionately the heart of God. This included the development of the £1.3M Beacon Centre project, opened in September 2005. He has served on the Board of Caleb Ministries, offering Christian Leadership training, for over 15 years. His heart is to release the potential in others.

He has been involved in supporting overseas community development work for 40 years, the last 20 years being focussed largely into Uganda. He worked as the Wales Country Director for Samaritan’s Purse for a number of years before becoming the UK Director for Watoto Child Care Ministries in 2014, serving over 4 years in this role. Through networking with many leaders in East Africa, a vision grew for the Source Centre project in Jinja, which Paul founded in 2019. He is now working as the Pastor of the International Church of Luzern, in Switzerland, where he has served for nearly 3 years.
